Vriksh Mitra is the flagship programme wherein citizens join hands for large scale tree plantations. Unique feature of this programme is a 3 year post plantation care for every plant, ensuring 100% survival. Water conservation is achieved through drip irrigation. Regular plantation drives are conducted involving school children. This inculcates in them a sense of Earth Care.
Vriksha Mitra is the environmental project of Utthaan. It is a devoted journey toward protection, conservation and improvement of nature and humanity. Our sole objective is to pass on a habitable, green, pollution free earth and a better world to the future generations. Under our VrikshMitra project, we work towards nullifying the imbalance caused by us, to the environment. Our goal is to bring the focus on value and importance of our planet and environment to all human beings, and urge everyone to adopt a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Realize lifestyle in order to support and respect the efforts to preserve the planet, our one and only source of life.
Under Vriksha Mitra, we create awareness among masses, specially children towards environmental conservation and adopting a sustainable lifestyle, which includes holistic living and use of organic produce. Our annual plantations drive, in and around the Delhi-NCR region is our pilot project. As we believe this is the best way to protect and create woodlands for future generations, ensuring their access and biodiversity are maintained and enhanced, and their resources are managed sustainably. It also caters to the best interests for wildlife, and local communities.
